Video: Google Launches Google Drive    [ 24-04-2012 21:45 ]

Google have taken the lid off their Google Drive service at last, but what exactly is it? In short it's cloud based storage with deep integration with Google Docs. You will get 5 GB of storage free of charge and of course Google will sell you more space, such as 25 GB for $2.49 a month. The service will be competing with similar services from Google's rivals, such as Microsoft's SkyDrive service. Google are set to release apps for Windows, Mac and of course Android to access Google Drive. An iOS version of the app is expected to be forthcoming within the next few weeks. New stats from the folks at internet monitoring firm Pingdom show that globally Chrome 18 is the most popular broswer. Microsoft does still retain the largest share of the global userbase when all versions of Internet Explorer are combined, but for individual browser versions Chrome 18 leads the pack with 25.6% share. Firefox comes next with 15.8% and Internet Explorer 9 and 8 bring up the rear with 15.7% and 14.6% respectively.
