Nokia 7710 or a second tryNokia announced its model Nokia 7700 more than a year ago and the device was intended as the one rich in multimedia capabilities and equipped with a touchscreen. Unfortunately, the phone had not worked stably run by Symbian by the expected time and the problem was in the sensory screen. And reasoning from these problems Nokia 9500 was not equipped with a similar display, it is usual and not a touchscreen. That is why the company cancelled a commercial release of Nokia 7700 in the third quarter and the device became some kind of a prototype of a platform available to the partners. At the same time Nokia didn't refuse the release of a model with the same characteristics and in the same form-factor as Nokia 7700. Potential target group of this model is youth, young professionals. That explains rather a flashy design and the absence of strict forms. That is surely not N-gage but a smartphone with the functions of a game console (they are not the main here). The emphasis is placed on the connectivity and a possibility to view web resources comfortably. Thanks to a PGCW (http://www.pgcw.com/index.asp) site some dozens of photos of Nokia 7710 became available. We'll tell about the characteristics of the phone first:
Following the specifications it is possible to say that Nokia 7710 is a niche product intended for a small group of users. Not many customers will be able to buy it for the price of 500-550 Euro. The model is expected in the market in the second quarter of 2005. Official announcement may be expected in October.
