Spillikins #11. More about Nokia N97 and N86

Last time I promised to tell about the Nokia N97, but somehow I forgot about this, and, to complicate things even further I deleted all screenshots taken from both the N97 and N86 - obviously, it was an accident. So now I have another reason to put together a mini-preview of these two phones, with some new photos and screenshots, and also tell you how things are going with the N97 and N86 in general (software- and hardware-wise). As far as the N97 is concerned, there hasn't been a hitch in its schedule so far - the software has been improved to the point when there are very few crashes, if any, and the phone feels very speedy. Check out our very exclusive video and see for yourself.

Nokia N97 vs Nokia N86:

Now for the Nokia N86, whose story is a tad more interesting. They have released new units with latest hardware and also improved build quality, which is now next to perfect, although after the N85 accident I don't think I have any credibility left in these matters. All I can say is that I only wrote what I saw, and we all know what changed in the phone's commercial units. So I'll let you wait for the N86's official release and check how study it is with your own hands. Now a small spoiler about the folding stand that pops out of the lens framing - the N86's settings will allow you to pick an application (such as the Gallery) that will start up automatically whenever you fold it out. Also, the phone now comes equipped with an updated version of N-Gage client (2.1 as far as I remember) and OVI, which is something you'd expect from other Nokia's latest and greatest offerings.
