CeBIT 2003. Sendo or a thorny path on the market
Sendo is a British manufacturer, although it has a Japanese name. Only one new phone of this company was demonstrated on the exhibition. It was S300 – a successor of 200 series. The company makes no secret on this fact and states it in its press-release. Later it would have GPRS and WAP, now it is a simple phone just to make calls. A vibrating alert is covered by a plastic now, probably there were many complaints of users who didn’t’ like to touch an open vibrating motor.
At the Sendo mobile stand one could see such phone as M550. It stands out by its internal 4096-color screen, which has a resolution of 128x128 pixels. It has STN display and the information is not highly visible under the sun. The phone is equipped with a stylish inversion external screen. The handset has a fancy design and looks very attractive. An expected price is 200-250 USD. It would be a successful solution, taking into account that this phone has almost all features which are necessary to a middle-class user. The only question is whether the manufacturer could keep this price.
We noticed nothing more interesting at the Snedo stand.
