LG decided to present new mid level device which has traditional design. This model will replace LG G5300. This device is like to LG G5400 by functionality, it’s obvious because the phones are constructed on one platform. The phone is unusual by design, it is made as bar with rounded bottom part. The design of the phone sticks to your memory at once, it’s impossible to mat this device with another one.Traditionally are available several case colors: blue, red, grey.

The sizes of the phone are following: 106x42x21.5 mm, the weight of the phone makes 85 gr. Such sizes and weight are typical for phones of this segment. The screen of this model has a resolution of 128x128 pixels and displays 65K colors. The screen is made under UFB technology, the screen is visible on the sun, but the picture fades. The screen is rather good for this segment.

The keyboard is made of plastic, the phone has scroll key with inscribed C key. Such arrangement type is not very comfortable, especially taking into account send call key, end call and soft keys. But alphanumerical key is enough convenient, the keys are well moved off from each other. The backlight is white and it is bright.

You can find interface connector on the bottom butt-end. Handsfree connector and hand strap holder are placed on the top butt-end.

On the back face you can see speaker intended for playing ring tones. This model has no IrDA.

The phone is equipped with lithium-ionic battery with capacity of 760 mAh. According to the manufacturer it is capable to provide up to 230 hours of standby time, and up to 3 hours of talk time. The device operated about 3-3.5 days in case of 30 minutes of talking and 15 minutes of using other functions. Time of full re-charging is about 1 hour 45 minutes.

Menu

The main menu is organized as items list, submenus are organized as lists. The device supports Java, this item can be found in main menu. The phone supports shortcuts number navigation.

Phonebook.You can store up to 200 names, each name has 5 fields (4 phone numbers and 1 e-mail address), you can also choose subscriber group and icon. Under the icon you can see preset fun pictures (faces, animals), they diversify the phone. You will see this picture at incoming call.

When entering information you should choose the main number and then you can enter other numbers step by step, but it’s possible to skip through them. In the general list can be displayed phone numbers from SIM-card and from phone’s memory.

The device has 7 subscriber groups, you can adjust ring tone and icon for each group. Voice dial is supported, you can appoint up to 10 labels. The recognition of voice labels works well; the phone warns you when you are trying to record 2 equal labels.

Messages. The phone supports EMS that allows attaching to messages pictures, melodies. This also allows sending long messages (980 symbols). Another important modification is concerned to predictive text input. The device supports T9, instead of eZi Text. Several dictionaries are supported. 11 changeable templates are provided.

MMS-messages support appeared. It’s possible to create several pages and to attach several pictures. All messages are stored in the device’s memory.

SMS messages are saved on SMS-card, and only then in the phone’s memory. As a whole, it’s convenient to work with messages, the device up-to-date

Call lists. Here you can look dialed, missed and received calls. Each list contains 10 phone numbers; you can look time and date for separate calls. Identical are summarized. The device has unified call list, it contains last 20 records from all lists. Exactly this list is displayed when you press send call key in standby mode.

Profiles. You can adjust sound settings in the phone, for example, melody type, keypad tone and so on. Everything is traditional

Settings. Here are placed device’s settings, for example, screen, ring tones, alarm. The device has simple alarm.

Organizer. Up to 20 events can be saved in the memory of organizer. Date, time and reminder can be set for each of them. You also indicate whether you like these events to be repeated (every day, week, month, year). The calendar shows a month, dates with events are indicated by a color. A special symbol, which symbolizes type of event (meeting, reminder) is appeared in the end. The main shortcoming of this organizer is limited number of records.

Fun&Tools. First, few words about games. There are three pre-installed Java games in the phone. They are not removable, but as for me, it is not necessary. Multiply is a kind of tetrix, space ball is an interesting version of snake, your mission is to swallow balls in special order not to allow snake to grow, in size. The last game is Submarine; it is a submarine simulator, your mission is to overcome all obstacles in the sea.

In My Folder you can store your own melodies and pictures. One can set them as ringtones or wallpapers. All downloaded files, except applications are kept here.

Unit converter is quite convenient, the same is calculator concerned.

Besides, you can view world time for selected cities.

Internet. The phone supports GPRS (class 10), so, we recommend you to set wap over GPRS, it’s cheaper. The phone supports wap-brower in version 1.2.1.

Java. Totally 1.1 Mb of dynamical memory is available in the phone. You can download new applications using Wap or by cable. You can use the software disc from LG G7100 and the corresponding cable.

Impressions

The appearance of LG G5310 looks regular in some measure, because increased consumer demand is observed exactly in this segment. Reception quality, speaker’s volume and loudness of 32-poly ringtone are at high level. LG realized regular bug fix and the device resulted stable. Good screen quality and 32-polyphony distinguish the device in this segment. Vibration alert is strong, it’s filled in different conditions.

The device will be in stock by the end of August, the beginning of September. Its price will make 200-230$ first time. The functionality of this device looks not so prettily in the presence of some competitive models, such as Samsung C100, Alcatel OT535. Its purchase will be well-taken if the price makes 160-170$ or if you are attracted by color screen and polyphony.
