Emporia. A Grandma-phone for Vacationers and a Watch

This time the Emporia showcase did not have a lot to offer: a protected phone designed in collaboration with Sonim and a watch. Wait… a watch? I do not understand why but they demonstrated a watch that would fit not only grandparents.

The protected phone is black and yellow like Sonim products. The case is covered with rubber, the back panel is screwed to the body and the sides feature resin inserts. The phone is very light. As for the rest, it is a quite regular grandma-phone with big digits key pad, big additional buttons on the sides and a flashlight.

The company has also presented a few new stylish grandma-phones. Though, I think it is better to say attractive, or just not as crude as the company's other phones.

One model is made of black mat plastic. The phone looks ascetic and has a color screen, that has a rather low resolution so the fonts and digits appear very large and easily readable.

And yet another variant of the Elegance model – in gold. It looks good, as for the rest, it is the very same Elegance the company presented last year.

And here is a white variant.

The original model.

And, finally, the star of the showcase – the lonely Emporia watch. I find the watch brilliant, or at least its looks. No specifications were available for this watch – it works and runs fast enough – that is it. Though I cannot still get it: there is a company that produces phones for seniors and… a watch. Why the watch?
