No N9 For Germany    [ 12-08-2011 18:32 ]

Author: Serge Novikov   Source: MobiFlip     Translation by: Paul Smith    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

The N9 looks to be doing something of a disappearing act, retreating from markets around the globe before it has even gone on sale. The latest country not to receive the device (officially at any rate) is Germany. Nokia confirmed to MobiFlip that the N9 will not go on sale in the country. It adds Germany to the list of countries not to see the handset, which also includes the likes of the UK and the U.S. Of course there will no doubt be third party retailers willing to import the device into these countries, but it is telling that the device's manufacturer is not going to be officially supporting it release in so many major markets.

Ice Cream Sandwich Pictures leak    [ 12-08-2011 18:24 ]

Author: Ivanov Konstantin   Source: Android Police & RootzWiki     Translation by: Paul Smith    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Some shots leaked today of what is claimed to be Android's Ice Cream Sandwich iteration. It's not completely certain that the OS shown in the pictures is in fact Ice Cream Sandwich, but there is some evidence to back up the claim. For instance, two separate websites, Android Police and RootzWiki have published pictures showing a blue looking UI running on a Nexus S with similarities to Gingerbread. The difference being a revised dock containing four icons instead of the usual three.

Other changes are said to be relatively mild with some Honeycomb features making an appearance, something that had been previously suspected of Ice Cream Sandwich. The camera functionality is said to be increased with the introduction of a panorma mode, whilst the GMail app is supposedly now matching the overall UI of the OS.

Is This What The iPhone 5 Will Look Like?    [ 12-08-2011 18:14 ]

Author: Ivanov Konstantin   Source: MacRumours     Translation by: Paul Smith    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Before we get onto the images let me make it quite clear, these are NOT purporting to be leaked shots. They are mockups based upon what is alleged to be a leaked design specification for the iPhone 5. MacRumours has taken that leaked design specification and created what they believe a handset based upon that would look like. Hence we come to the images below.

Make of them what you will, but they are, if nothing else, interesting from the point of view of what might yet be. Time will tell how accurate they really are.
