LG will apparently be showing off a 3D smartphone at MWC in Barcelona this month, the Optimus 3D.
The handset was pictured by a tipster who sent it along to Phandroid and they've managed to glean a few facts about this new beast.
For starters the screen is pretty big, weighing in at over 4 inches, possibly around the 4.3" mark. That sounds fair enough given that the screen, with its 3D capabilities, will be the biggest draw of this handset. Running the whole shebang will be a dual-core processor. There is also a front facing camera, which you can see on the upper right hand side.

Well now LG have made it official in a press release:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LG TO UNVEIL WORLD'S FIRST FULL 3D SMARTPHONE AT MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS 2011
3D Recording-Viewing-Sharing of Life's Precious Moments Anytime, Anywhere
SEOUL, Feb. 1, 2011 – At this year's Mobile World Congress, LG will unveil the LG Optimus 3D, the world's first 3D smartphone offering consumers a full 3D experience right in the palm of their hands.
The LG Optimus 3D addresses the lack of 3D content issue -- one of the biggest problems facing the 3D market -- with a complete platform for a one-of-a-kind experience on a mobile device. LG's most advanced smartphone to date will feature a dual-lens camera for 3D recording, a glasses-free LCD panel for 3D viewing and diverse connectivity options such as HDMI and DLNA for 3D content sharing anytime, anywhere.
Further details and a live demo of the LG Optimus 3D will be offered at Booth #8B178 at MWC in Barcelona from February 14 to 17.

The culprit behind the excessive data usage in Windows Phone 7 can now be revealed ... Yahoo!
That's right folks, Yahoo! Mail is apparently using twenty five times more data than it is supposed to. Obviously this wasn't sitting well with customers, especially those on fixed data caps who might have been facing exorbitant phone bills as a result of the bug.
The Big M has gotten on the phone with the Big Y and they are thrashing out a fix, which Microsoft says should come within the next few weeks. That's not soon enough for those affected we'll wager, but there are some steps you can take to minimise the bug whilst you are waiting on the fix being rolled out.

Granted that Samsung doesn't want the next generation of the Galaxy S to appear in public before it's good and ready to announce it, but if so they could at least pay attention to the details. Details like making sure they get their video editing right so that the handset doesn't show up by mistake.

The image of the new handset appears as a reflection in glass at 13 seconds into the video below, a teaser video for the new handset. Whilst the handset in the woman's hand is nicely obscured the reflection is right there for all to see.
