CeBIT 2003. Mobile phones from Sanyo

We can unite three companies in one article, because firstly we have already written about some of them and secondly, some stands have only few new models. For example, Philips unveiled only one new phone – Philips 121. It is very similar to its successor, in response to features it is a re-make of a well-known Xenium.

Besides, one can see Philips 330 and 630 there. In my opinion these phones look more attractive at the pictures. Unfortunately it was difficult to take photos of them as they were protected by glass.

As these phones were firstly introduced in 3GSM Congress in Cannes, there is much information about them, for instance, you can read here and here about them.

The same situation is with Alcatel. All phones were announced before the exhibition. However, we could try them there a little bit. In reality they look nicer then on the pictures. Notify that the company is going to equip all new phones with 65K-screens, even in the beginning 2004. More information about phone line form Alcatel is available here and here.

Shortly I will tell about my impressions. Alcatel OT 320 is most likely based on the old platform. For instance, slots have the same position and menu wasn’t changed, although it was stated that it would have a different structure.

The next model – Alcatel 531 is based on Trium m320. The new phone has an improved menu. Among the new phones, it is the first model, which will be available on the market.

You can really see changing of the screen mode in Alcatel 535. In my opinion it is the most controversial model among all new presented ones. Menu is made in the other style. Information is not seen on the screen under the sun, though it is a shortcoming of the whole phone line.

The elder brother – Alcatel 735 has an integrated digital camera. It was possible to take a picture of yourself at the stand and receive a print-photo as a present. But the quality of these photos was rather low. I am sure that they should be viewed only on the phone display. Like Alcatel 715, 735 has a cable connector. It’s not common, by the way.

LG had not very large stand. At first, it seemed that there were many phones there, but in reality they were the same models of different colors. It’s strange that the phones that had been widely sold in Russia were almost not introduced. Among GSM-phones, you could see W3000, which isn’t considered to be a new phone. I was interested in few CDMA-phones. Unfortunately, there was no available information about first of them except a tablet. I tried to ask managers, why phone memory is divided in such way, but I didn't receive a proper answer.

Some more photos to estimate a design of the products without comments.

In the next part I’ll try to tell about new phone headsets.
