Video: Flutter Brings Gesture Control To iTunes/Spotify    [ 02-04-2012 19:36 ]

Author: Ivanov Konstantin   Source: Flutter     Translation by: Paul Smith    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Hve you ever wanted to control iTunes or Spotify using Kinect like gestures? No, neither have I. However, you can now do just that thanks to a new app for Macs called Flutter. It isn't actually available in the Mac App Store as it is still in an alpha build stage of development, but even so it apparently works quite well. The app uses the inbuilt iSight camera to record gestures from the user and seems to work even from a few feet away from the camera. If you want to give it a go yourself the alpha build can be downloaded here or you could just take a look at it going through its paces in the video below:

Video: Nokia Viral Series Takes Aim At iPhone    [ 02-04-2012 19:30 ]

Author: Irina Turina   Source: Smartphone Beta Test     Translation by: Paul Smith    Send news to friend  Discuss in forum

Nokia's forthcoming Lumia 900 will need a spot of advertising as you might expect. Well have no fear as Nokia are already on the case with a series of viral videos. Well sort of. It's all a bit obscure really, but the jist of the thing is to have a pop at Apple and its iPhone. The videos bring up the iPhone reception isues, its build quality and using the iPhone's screen in direct sunlight. The associated website, 'Smartphone Beta Test', shows Chris Parnell from Saturday Night Live, waiting on a countdown, with the clock ticking down to 6th April. Why do we think Nokia is involved at all? Well WPCentral chanced upon a Java script link connecting it to Nokia.com. At any rate you can take a peek at the videos below:
